One of our users, Ellen Cook of the Cajun Cook has an event coming up on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Here is her tease about it:
“Let us make WisCajun’s out of you!! We are all set for Metcalfe’s Tuesday Night Run! The Cajun Cook Jambalaya Starter Kits will be on sale at both Madison Hilldale and Madison West stores, but we will be feeding shoppers at the Madison West location (not Hilldale, as I previously posted). If you can’t make it, look for the kits next time you shop!!”
We will be holding two informational sessions for the month of May. They are open to the general public, we only ask that you let Karen know that you are planning to show up so that we have enough copies of our informational pack for everyone attending and have an idea of the turnout. You can contact her at: director@northsideplanningcouncil.org
The dates for the sessions are:
Tuesday, May 27, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
Saturday, May 31, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm
Both sessions will be held in the conference room at the FEED Kitchens. We look forward to seeing you there.
The Organic Processing Institute is holding a workshop on getting your innovative food product onto retailers’ shelves. April 22, West Madison Ag Research Station, 8502 Mineral Point Rd., Verona, WI, 53593 (SW side of Madison); or attend online – see registration form for details.
Come out this Saturday, April 5, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to the first ever FEED Bazaar/Open-House. It will be a great opportunity to get a look at the Kitchens and to meet some of the current and future users of the facility. There will be samples to try and products to buy, so bring your appetite and your pocket book and find out more about local food business and the people behind it.
We are working on our website and will soon have a calendar of events list on the front page so you have a better idea of what is coming up at FEED Kitchens and what our users are up to, but in the meantime, keep checking here for updates.
Our next User Informational Session is going to be held on Tuesday, March 25 from 6:00 to 7:30 at the Kitchens. Please e-mail Karen Bassler to reserve a spot.
If you can’t make the March date, we will have two sessions in April, on Saturday, April 26 and Tuesday, April 29. You can also schedule a walk-through with Adam at the Kitchens. It won’t be quite as detailed as the informational sessions, but you will still get the pertinent information and a quick tour of the facility.
On Sunday, February 23, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., we will have an Open House at the FEED Kitchens for anyone who would like to come out to see the building and get a brief tour and explanation of what we do and who we are.
If you have ever wondered about the newest building on the Northside, considered renting space, or just want to say hello, stop by. If you can’t make it on Sunday, you can always give us a call and we can set-up a walk-through for you as well.
Karen Bassler, director of the Northside Planning Council, recently gave an interview about the funding and building of the FEED Kitchens. Here is a link to that article.
